In Loving Memory Of

Jared Cole Moore

Jared Cole Moore, 18, of Wadestown, WV died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at his residence.

He was born January 11, 1984 at Morgantown, WV a son of Lloyd G. Moore, Jr. and Jacqueline "Jackie" Russell Moore.

Jared was a 2002 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and was a freshman majoring in business and management at West Virginia Univerisity.

In school Jared was very active with various organizations.  He was President of the Leo Club, attended Mountaineer Boys State, graduate of West Virginia State Police Junior Trooper Academy, an honor roll student, was listed with Who's Who Among American High School Students, was a member of the Teen Institute, and played on the Clay-Battelle Varsity Golf Team.

Prior to attending West Virginia University he received many awards including the Promise Scholarship, the Fairmont General Hospital Inc. Scartz Family Scholarship, and the Core Community Center Service Award.

He served as Treasurer of the Wadestown Community Volunteer Fire Department and had completed numerous courses associated with fire fighting.  He was also vice-president of the Morgantown City Police Department, Explorer Post #291.  He had also been very active in 4-H in his early life.  He was a member of the West Warren Baptist Church of Wadestown.

He was employed on a part-time basis by Chisler Inc. and also by Albert Scartz and Phil Mathias.

Surviving in addition to his parents are one brother, Justin Ross Moore, a Cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado;  his maternal grandmother, Alma Lee Bean Russell of Wadestown;  his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Moore, Sr. of Conway, SC; aunts and uncles, Marcia Kay and Norman Core of Wadestown and Beth and John Webb of Salem.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Russell and his paternal grandmother, Sara Lou Cummins Moore.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-9 PM Tuesday.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Pastor Jack Snoderly assisted by Rose Saunders and Pastor Tim Brower.  Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wadestown Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 221, Wadestown, WV 26589.
