In Loving Memory Of

Lloyd Carter

Lloyd L. Carter, 77, of Wind Ridge, PA died Monday, December 3, 2001 at his residence.  He was born November 6, 1924 at Hundred, WV a son of the late Donley and Cora Strope Carter.

Mr. Carter was a retired coal miner.  He retired in 1986 from the Ireland Mine in Moundsville with over 35 years of service.  He was a member of District 6, United Mine Workers of America.  He was an honorary member of the Hundred FFA Chapter, Hundred, WV.  He was a United States Army Veteran who served during World War II and was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post # 120 of Hundred and a protestant by faith.

Surviving are his wife, Garnet Reed Carter; two daughters, Eve Weaver of Wind Ridge, PA and Dawn Cunningham of Connellsville, PA;  five sons, Fred Carter and Lloyd Carter, Jr. both of Carmichaels, PA,  Floyd Carter and Glen Carter both of Germantown, MD, and Joseph Carter of Khedive, PA;  two half brothers, Bill Haught of Canton, OH and Tommy Hixenbaugh;  seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Carter and Charles Carter and one grandchild.   

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 5-9 PM Wednesday.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating.  Entombment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park in Jefferson, PA.
