In Loving Memory Of

Donald G. Russell

Donald G. "Grubby" Russell, 51, of West Finley, PA, formerly of Mannington and New Freeport, Pa, died Thursday, August 30, 2001 in the Greene County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg, PA.

Mr. Russell was born October 10, 1949 at Rachel, WV a son of Gay Stout Russell of Mannington and the late Donald K. Russell.

Mr. Russell first worked at Fourco Glass Co. in Clarksburg.  Later he worked at the Four States Mine until it closed and at that time he went to work at the Bailey Mine in Waynesburg, PA as a buggy operator.  At the time of his death he had 26 years of service with Consolidation Coal Company.

He was a Methodist by faith and was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #461 of Waynesburg, PA.  He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife, Elizabeth Kennedy; two daughters, Erica Dawn Russell and Rachel Elizabeth Russell both of New Freeport, PA; a brother, Roger Russell of Mannington; two sisters, Joyce Thorne of Clarksburg, WV and Cheryl King of Mt. Top, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-9 PM Saturday.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 PM Sunday with Brother Burt Jones officiating.  Interment will follow in the View Point Cemetery, Rachel where full military honors will be conducted at graveside.
