In Loving Memory Of

James C. Gorby

James C. Gorby, 78, of Hanoverton, Ohio, formerly of the New Freeport, PA area, died Monday, May 14, 2001 at his residence.

He was born March 26, 1923 at Cameron, WV a son of the late Broze and Flora Welling Gorby.

Mr. Gorby was a retired truck driver for the Malvern Flue Lining Company.  He was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre and the Korean War.  He was a member of the Tri-County Church of Christ, Valley American Legion Post #375 of Malvern, OH and the Civilian Conservation Corp of Rockwood, PA.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtleann Gorby;  one daughter, Deborah Gorby of Hanoverton, Ohio;  two sons, James R. "Dick" Gorby of Hartville, Ohio and Jack Gorby of Fairborn, Ohio;  two sisters,  Alice Kensinger of Beloit, Ohio and Mary Shanor of Beaver Falls, PA;  three grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from Noon until the time of the service at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2001.  Services will be held at 1:00 PM with Brother Terry Kirsch officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery at Ned, PA.
