In Loving Memory Of

Rosedale Miller

Rosedale Miller, 75, of New Freeport, PA  died Wednesday, February 28, 2001 in Greene County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg, PA.

She was born April 14, 1925 in Littleton, WV a daughter of the late P. B. and Myrtle E. Booth Gorby.

Mrs. Miller was the owner of the Log Cabin Service Station in New Freeport.  She and her late husband, Forrest "Snuffy" Miller ran Miller's Grocery in Aleppo, PA from 1965 to 1969.  After closing the store there they opened the Log Cabin Service Station.  She was a charter member of the New Freeport Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a Greene County Democratic  Committeewoman, Inspector of Elections in Freeport Township and served as a Township Auditor for many years.  She was a graduate of Waynesburg High School Class of 1943 and a member of the New Freeport Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sons and spouses, Danny and Ruth Miller of New Freeport, PA and Dennis "Pepper"  and Vickie Miller of Waynesburg, PA;  two daughters   and spouses, Connie and Richard Widdup of Holbrook, PA and Cindy and Steve Varner of Littleton, WV;  one brother, Zinn Gorby of Chagrin Falls, Ohio;  three sisters, Jeraldine Eichberg of Towson, MD, Deloris Kennedy of New Freeport and Myrtleann Gorby of Hanoverton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Scott, Melinda and Melissa Miller, Tara, Todd and Natalie Varner, Michael Widdup;  four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Forrest "Snuffy" Miller who died on March 3, 1986 and her second husband Paul DeGarmo who died on June 18, 1994 and a brother Harry R. Gorby.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 2:00 to 4:00  and 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2001.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 3, 2001 with the Evangelist Frank Love officiating.  Interment will follow in the Thomas Addition, Sand Hill Cemetery, Garrison, PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
