Boyd G. Wolfe

Boyd G. Wolfe, 65, of Hundred, WV died Saturday, March 13, 2004 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.

Mr. Wolfe was born September 4, 1938 at Lowesville, WV a son of the late William Wolfe and Della G. Tichenor Wolfe.

He was a former employee of the Cerro Copper Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1964 he returned to West Virginia and worked for F. M. Chisler and Hughes Oil Company. In 1969 he started working at the Consolidation Coal Company #1 mine in Blacksville and retired from there in 1991 with 22 years of service.

He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred; Local 1588 and District #31 of the United Mine Workers of America in Fairmont. He was a member of the Oak Forest United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Flora K. Jones Wolfe, whom he married on August 20, 1960; three sons & spouses, Robert T. & Chellene Wolfe and Rickey L. & Kelly Wolfe, all of Wadestown, and Keith Wolfe (Rooster) of Hundred; two daughters and spouses, Ronda & Greg Sypolt of Rowlesburg and Yvonne and William Vinson of Edgewood, MD; two brothers, Stanley Ray Wolfe of Hundred and David Wolfe of Pentress; eleven grandchildren, Jolene Bandy, Tristan Wolfe, Ben Shaffer, Kerri Wolfe, Cody Wolfe, Brittney Vinson, Brandy Vinson, Shelly Vinson, Angela Shpke, Nathan Sypolt and Nicholas Sypolt; four great-grandchildren, Shalie Bandy, Kirsten, Shaun, and Michael Shpke; several brothers and sisters-in-laws, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph H. Wolfe, five sisters, Mary Fowler, Evelyn Stansberry, Louella Konopko, Ann Long, and Dorothy Smith; and his father-in-law, Henry W. Jones.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 2-4 & 7-9 Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30Am Tuesday with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Sarah Cemetery on Sinclair Ridge, Rowlesburg, WV. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Orville Davis.
