CHARLES R GOFF, SR

Charles R. Goff, Sr, 71, of Burton, WV died Saturday, July 24, 2004 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born March 12, 1933 at Rowlesburg, WV a son of the late Orval R. and Maudie Howdershelt Goff.

He was a retired coal miner. He retired from Consolidation Coal Company, Blackville #2 Mine with 25 years of service. He last worked as buggy operator. He was a member of District #31, United Mine Workers of America and a protestant by faith. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Elsie Miller Goff; three sons; Allen R. Goff of Belpre, Ohio, Charles R. "Chip" Goff Jr of Hundred and Michael Goff of Burton; three daughters, Toni Strohmeyer of Cameron, Debra Hughes of Belpre, Ohio, and Donna Horton of Kingwood, WV; three brothers, Richard Goff of Akron, Ohio, Derrald Goff of Elkins, and Gipe Allen Goff of Rowlesburg, WV; four sisters, Mary Bolyard of Akron, Ohio, Patty Bell of Mill Creek, WV, Peggy Wetzel of Wheeling, WV, and Alice Sigley of Rowlesburg; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Goff and one sister, Helen Jean Knotts.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred WV from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Shriver Cemetery near Hundred.
