In Loving Memory Of

GEORGE W STONEKING

 
George Washington Stoneking, 76, of RD 4 Cameron, WV died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at his residence surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, Breighanna (Pappy's Angel Baby).

George was born May 15, 1927 at Glover Gap, WV a son of the late John Lee and Sarah Anna Six Stoneking.

He retired from the McElroy Mine in 1984.  He also served in the United States Army 92nd Engineers in Korea from 1958 to 1960.  He was a member of the Rocklick Community Church.

George is survived by his wife of 38 years, Judy G. Vanorsdale Stoneking.  Also his 10 children, Mark and Holly Stoneking of Glen Easton, Susan and Duncan "Buck" Arnett of Cameron, Jon and Melissa Stoneking of Cameron, GeorgeAnna and Hank Henry of Salineville, Ohio; George Jr and Alicia Stoneking of Cameron, Judy and Gene Wagner of Wyatt, Sally Stoneking of Chicago, Ill, Stephanie and Bill McCloy of Clarksburg, Dodie and Randy of Pittsburgh, PA, Jackie Lee Stoneking of Fairmont. His 24 grandchildren, Gina, Brenda "Josephine", Teresa, Jesse "Dolittle", Jenna, Cody, Katie, Steven, Stace, Morgan, Jason, Robert, Sarah, Tommy, Mikki, Wayne, Michelle, Ben, Laurene, Katie, Levi, Jay, Amanda, and Martin.  Fifteen great-grandchildren, and brothers and sisters, Levon Cumbridge, Mary Plyman, Gladys Gardner, Ray Stoneking, Molly Harrington, Patty Wright, Joe Stoneking, Margaret Karpiel, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, George W. Stoneking, Jr., four brothers and one sister.

"He was a hard working coal miner, he served his country proudly in the US Army and was the best Pappy ever", Robert "E Lee" Henry.   "He was the best Pappy ever and he and grandma helped me out the best they could when I needed help the most, and he is one of the few men that I have alot of respect for and I know he's watching over me and I'll always remember and love him."  Jesse "Dolittle" Stoneking.

He will always be loved and missed by all.

Friends may call at the Rocklick Community Church, Burley Hill Road, Cameron from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM Friday.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with the Pastor David Lund and Rev. Ralph Koffler officiating.  Interment will follow in the Stoneking Cemetery near Hundred.
