PHILIP O WHITE

Philip O. White, 94, of White Creek Community, Hundred, WV died Saturday, August 14, 2004 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born October 19, 1909 at White Creek, a son of the late Simon Jesse White and Lydia Dell White.

Mr. White was a farmer and formerly worked as a painter. He worked for the Peoples Gas Company at Brave, PA for a short time. He was a member of the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, a past president of the Battelle District Fair Association, a member of the Monongalia County Farm Bureau, and a former member of the Farming for Better Living organization.

Surviving are his faithful dog, Jeff; one son & daughter-in-law, Glenn & Jean White of Waynesville, NC; one daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Dick Bartholomew of Pentress; three grandchildren, Dixee R. Feis of Storm Lake, Iowa, Laura W. Redick of St. Louis, MO and Justin S. White of Morgantown; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Fern T. White, who died on July 12, 1993; two brothers, Frank White and Robert White; and one sister, Martha White.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Wednesday. Interment will follow in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
