In Loving Memory Of
Carl W. Moore, 82, of Daybrook, died Friday, April 28, 2017 in the Mon General
Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born June 14, 1934, in Monongalia County, a son of the late Winfred
“Sam” Moore and Della Snow Yost Moore.
Carl was a retired meter reader/well tender for Consolidated Natural Gas Company
with more than 36 years of service. Although he worked for the gas company
for many years his true passion was farming. He was a graduate of Clay-Battelle
High School in the class of 1952.
Surviving are four sons and their spouses David Moore, Dale Moore, Danny and
Monica Moore, and Donny and Bonnie Moore, all of Daybrook; one daughter and her
spouse, Diane and Andy Long of Shinnston; one brother, Freddie Moore of West
Union; one sister, Elaine Tennant of Fairmont; one step-son, Josh Sandone;
twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years,
Freeda Moore, who died on January 27, 2008; one brother, Perry Moore; and one
granddaughter Alisha Marie Moore.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway,
Blacksville, WV from 6-8 PM Sunday, and from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with
the Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in the Yost
Cemetery at Daybrook.
