In Loving Memory Of
Peggy Ann Barr, 80, of East Liverpool, Ohio died March 1, 2017 after a brief
illness in the Calcutta Health Care Center with her family nearby.
Born on November 10, 1936 in Moundsville, WV, she was a daughter of the late
John and Kathrine E. Wheeler Cunningham. She was raised in that area,
where she cared for her siblings at a young age and later became a devoted
mother and homemaker.
Peggy relocated to East Liverpool in 2002 to be closer to her son and family
here. She thoroughly loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren whom she adored. She also enjoyed the company of her
cat, Pebbles, and she never grew tired of working jigsaw puzzles with her
daughter-in-law every day.
Her husband, Jack, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Lonnie Barr and his wife Elizabeth, with whom she
resided, and John Barr of Wadestown, WV. Peggy was also preceded in death
by all three of her daughters, Bonnie A. Barr, Carrie E. Barr Lambert, and Alma
Also surviving are ten grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four
great-great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Cassandra Barr, preceded her
in death, as well as five brothers, three sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Sue
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway,
Blacksville, WV from 12:00 Noon until the 2:00 PM service
hour on Sunday, March 5, 2017, with the Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating.
Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery, Spraggs, PA.
