CHARLES TOWNSEND
Charles Edward Townsend, 77, of Pursglove, WV died Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his residence.
He was born February 19, 1945 in Clay County, WV, a son of the late Rufus Townsend and Ocie Cook Townsend.
Mr. Townsend worked as a self-employed mechanic and as a custodian.
Surviving is one son, Gene Townsend of Meadow Ponds; one daughter, Charlene Toland and her husband Charles of Waynesburg, PA; one brother, Everett Townsend of Illinois; one sister, Bernadine Gillis of Osage; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Mary Villers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Townsend; one grandson, Tyler Villers; one brother, Carl Townsend; and one sister, Pearl Deusenberry.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 11:00 AM on Thursday until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
