JOSEPH CLAYTON POSTLETHWAIT

          Joseph Clayton Postlethwait, 59, of Pentress, WV died Friday, September 15, 2023 in the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

          He was born February 19, 1964 in Morgantown, a son of the late Joseph Postlethwait and Elizabeth Hibbs Postlethwait.

          Joe was a self-employed blacksmith.  He loved camping, fishing, wood crafts, and anything that was associated with the native American people.  He was also very passionate about history and family genealogy.

          Surviving is one brother, Charles Nelson Postlethwait and his wife Lori of Farmington; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Weber and her husband of Fairview; step-children; and step-grandchildren; aunts and uncles, Charles Hibbs of Pentress, Harold and Kay Hibbs of Pentress, George Hibbs of Georgia, and Reitha Peterson of Kentucky; and nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Virginia “Sue” Postlethwait; and by a sister, Mary Beth Postlethwait.

          At the request of the deceased his body will be cremated.

The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
