PEGGY DULANEY

Peggy Dulaney entered fully into the presence of the Lord on February 16, 2025.  A committed follower of Jesus Christ, Peggy’s life is a testament to Acts 20:35, “It is better to give than receive.”  She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, a cherished sister, and a beloved aunt.  She truly found joy in lifting up others, expecting nothing in return.  She accepted all with an open heart, open arms, and a sweet smile.

Peggy was born on May 25, 1934 in Pine Grove, WV, to Claude and Audrey Derby.  She grew up on Four-Mile Road alongside her siblings, Patsy, Janice, Mary Alice, Karen, Marlene, Linda, Claude, Jr., Norman and David.  She graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1952, and married Harold Longwell in 1953.  Together, they raised five children: Sandy Walker of Fairmont, Debby Howard of Fairmont, Gary (Lorraine) Longwell of Littleton, Greg Longwell of Bridgeport, and Twyla (Bryan) Tustin of Rivesville.  The family grew, welcoming eight grandchildren: Charity, David, Nathan, Gary Jr., Justin, Jason, Jessica, and Maleri, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Following the death of her husband, Harold, of 47 years, Peggy reconnected with her childhood friend Robert Dulaney.  After 3 years of courtship, they married in 2007.  They spent their days enjoying the simple pleasures of country life until his passing in 2023.

Peggy had immense passion for family and God.  She embodied unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity.  She was a talented seamstress, a jigsaw puzzle extraordinaire, brilliant baker, and an avid reader.

The family is joyful in knowing that Peggy’s soul is at peace, resting with her savior and reunited with those she missed dearly.  As Peggy prioritized finding joy in life by simply being with others, the family asks that you do the same—celebrate life by spending time and appreciating simple pleasures with those around you, wherever you may be.

Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Peggy’s life at Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred.  Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 18, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  The internment will be at Anderson-Bethel Cemetery at Littleton, WV.
