ALBERT CONNOR

Albert Lloyd Connor, 88, know as “Toad” to many, of Days Run Road passed away June 28, 2024, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 15, 1935 in Pentress, WV.  In 1958 he moved out west with his family in search of work as well as travel.  He then moved back to Uniontown, OH where he lived until 1977 where he worked in autobody.  He moved his family back to his birthplace on Days Run and worked for the DOH for over 18 years.  His passions were farming, gardening, fishing, playing the fiddle, and hunting; especially when the gang came in for deer season.  He loved raising Herford cattle, while his wife’s passion was for sheep.  His most favorite thing was sitting on the porch of his cabin on the hill that he had hand built.  He loved the simple things in life, the farm, his front porch swing, and his daily buggy rides up to the cabin.

Surviving is one daughter, Rosann and her husband Robert Shisler of Days Run; brother, John Connor of Masontown, WV; grandchildren, Albert and Derrick Shisler, Richard Allen and his fiancé Jessica Layton, and Raymond and his wife Meggan Allen; great-grandchildren, Madison Shisler, Mason, Braxton, and Carson Shisler, Emma Jane Allen, and Adrian Strawderman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Lenore Connor and his daughter, Nancy Allen; four brothers, Robert who died as an infant, twin infant brother, Herbert, and Bill and Erd; and three sisters, Betty, Bertha, and Judy.

The family wishes to thank Amedysis Hospice for the wonderful care that was given and to Pastor Rich for all of the prayers and comfort to Albert as well as the family.

In accordance with the family’s wishes he will be laid to rest during a private family service at the Hibbs Cemetery at Pentress.

The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
