Montgomery Village, Md. – Carolyn Sue Tennant, 73, of Hopkins, MN, died Wednesday, May 17th, of natural causes.
She was born February 6, 1944, in Jakes Run, Monongalia County, WV. She was the daughter of the late Ellis James “Possum” Tennant and Eva Ellen Varner Tennant.
She was an Administrative Assistant at the University of West Virginia after spending 24 years as a US Army spouse living in 3 countries and 6 states.
She is survived by daughter, Diana Linn Tennant, of Montgomery Village, MD; son Charles Floyd Tennant II of Wildwood, FL; son Michael Lynn Tennant of Coxs Creek, KY; grandchildren, Andrea Dawn Wilt Aguilar, Ian Michael Tennant , Pamela Wallace, William Alexander Tennant, and Rebecca Sue Tennant; sisters Ester Faye Tennant Stimmell, Mary Olive Tennant Gaskill, Mabel Roseann Tennant Smith, and Norma Jean Tennant Demastes; brother Arlie Ray Tennant; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Charles Floyd Tennant; sisters Bertha Ellen Tennant, Lillian Pearl Tennant Stimmell, and Nancy Louise Tennant; brothers William Alva Tennant, Melvin Earl Tennant, Charles James Tennant, Marvin Gale Tennant, and Frankie Dale Tennant.
Services will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, June 3rd, at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV.
Burial will follow at the St. Luke Cemetery, Mooresville, WV.
