Charles W. "Bill" Gribble, 75, of Burton, WV (Rush Run Community) died Friday, October 19, 2001 in the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Clarksburg.

He was born June 4, 1926 at Morgantown, WV a son of the late John A. and Irene G. Church Gribble.

Mr. Gribble was a self employed builder for many years and a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Hundred, WV.He was a United States Army Veteran who served in the European Theatre during World War II and was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post # 120 of Hundred.

Surviving are one daughter, Edith Orban, of Tiltonsville, OH; his caregiver and fiance', Eva Shaver of Burton, WV; five brothers, Albert E. Gribble of Newport News, VA, Bernard H. Gribble of Wichita Falls, TX,James L. Gribble of Yuma, AZ,Loren B. Gribble of Salem, OH and Paul Gribble of Wadestown, WV;five grandchildren, a step-grandson and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah F. Spencer and a brother Jackie Gribble who died as an infant.

Friends may call from 5-9 PM Sunday at Tennant Funeral Home, Hundred, WV.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the Tennant Funeral Home, Hundred with the Pastor Paul Gribble officiating.Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown.
