DAVID WAYNE TENNANT

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, David Wayne Tennant, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 76 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Dave lived in Mooresville with his wife of 58 years, Brenda Arnett Tennant.  He was such a good and kind man, but worked like there was no tomorrow.  You could usually see him outside washing some’s vehicle, taking care of the lawn, or working up on that awful hill!  We will miss him so very much!

Dave was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School.  He was an employee at the Arkwright mine from 1967-1995 when the mine shut down.  He was an employee at WVU from 1995-1996.  He then worked at Blacksville #2 mine from 1996-2003 when he retired.

He was the son of the late Adrian Paul Tennant.  He is survived by his mother, Helen Tennant Farringer of Clinton, PA.  He is also survived by his daughters Lisa (Russ) Moore of Canonsburg, PA and Lori Tennant of Morgantown.  Also surviving are grandchildren Brendon Botham, Brooke Spiroff, Victoria Spiroff, and Macy Moore; great-grandchildren, Parker and Aiden Ammons and Kamryn Botham.

He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn Truver of Clinton, PA and Marilyn Corbin of Core; sister-in-law, Barbara (John) Wilson and brother-in-law, Bruce (Pam) Arnett.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Jean Miles, and his step-father, Richard Farringer.

At Dave’s request, there will be no visitation, however, a graveside service will be held at the Olive Cemetery on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating, which will be open to the public.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.

The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
