FRANCES POSTLETHWAIT

          Frances Lillian (Montgomery) Postlethwait, 90, of Burton, WV passed away Monday, August 22, 2022.  Frances was born February 18, 1932 in Washington Courthouse, OH.  She was the youngest child, and only daughter, of Paul and Iva (Smidley) Montgomery, and she grew up in Chillicothe, Ohio.  She graduated from Chillicothe High School and was attending nursing school when she met her husband, Floyd Postlethwait, who was in the Air Force, and married him after a five-week courtship.  They were married for 66 years and raised four children.  Frances was known for being a good friend, a great cook, and a card player.  She loved to quilt and make woven baskets and to spend time with her family.  Frances was a long-time member of TOPS, and an active member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Burton.

          The family would like to thank The Heritage of St. Marys, WV, for the love and great care they showed to Frances, while she was a resident there.

          Surviving are two sons and their spouses, Montgomery Rex Postlethwait and his wife Faith of Freemont, Ohio, and Jimmy Alan Postlethwait of Burton; one daughter, Stella Amos of St. Marys, WV; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Postlethwait, who died on July 27, 2018; one son, David L. Postlethwait; and two brothers, Ronald Montgomery and Edward Montgomery.

          Friends will be received at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2022.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jason Sleeth officiating.  Interment will follow in the Anderson-Bethel Cemetery near Littleton.
