GEORGE MICHAEL
George Michael, 73, of Blacksville, WV entered into eternal heavenly rest Sunday, April 23, 2023 at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Gerald “Cob” and Ruby Michael.
George was a 1968 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of the Blacksville Baptist Church, Blacksville Cemetery Association, Morgantown Moore Lodge, and the American Legion Post 200.
As an avid golfer, he could often be found spending time with his golf buddies and close friends at Rohanna’s Golf Course or in his workshop repairing and building golf clubs.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Brenda; a son Brian Michael and wife Christina; a daughter Tara Kurcaba and husband Brian, all of Morgantown; three loving grandchildren, Audrey, Faith, and Brian Kurcaba; one sister, Sondra Copeland of Melrose, FL; and numerous extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jane Shriver; brothers-in-law, Franklin “Huz” Shriver and Billy Copeland.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
