JAMES C. BALL

                  James C. Ball, 97, of St. Mary’s WV died Saturday, September 30, 2023 in the Heritage at St. Mary’s.

          He was born June 28, 1926 at Clinch Port, Scott County, Virginia, a son of the late Noah J. Ball and Cora Barrett Ball.

          Jim was retired from Mobay Chemical Company where he had worked for 25 years as an electrician.   Prior to working for Mobay he had worked in the construction industry for 25 years.  He was a member of the Good Sams RV Club, American Legion Post #28 in New Martinsville, VFW Post #9930 in Hannibal, Ohio, and the IBEW Local #700.  He was a methodist by faith.

          Mr. Ball was a United States Navy veteran.

          Surviving is one son, James L. Ball and wife Cathy of Winston-Salem, NC; step-son, Clyde Conner and his wife Sue of Lewisburg, WV; one daughter, Linda Tomaszewki and her husband John of New Martinsville; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and his companion of eighteen years, Sjoukje Van Loan; and his dog, Freyja.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred “Midge” Ball; one son, Harvey J. Ball; three sisters, Ruby Ball, Reba Sexton, and Virginia Wells; twin brothers, Omar & Oscar Ball; and three other infant brother and sisters, Elmer, Laura, and Lois Ball.

          Friends may call at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in New Martinsville from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday.  Funeral services will be held in the St Vincent de Paul Church in New Martinsville with Monsignor Kevin Quirk officiating at 11:00 AM Friday.  Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville.

          The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV is in charge of arrangements.
