KAREN SUE MACKEY
Karen Sue Mackey, 70, of Georgetown Community, Cameron, WV died Thursday, December 23, 2021 in the UPMC Magee Woman’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
She was born October 13, 1951 at Littleton, WV a daughter of the late Roy Wise and Reba Smith Wise.
Mrs. Mackey worked in the dietary department of the Cameron Continuous Care Center for many years. She was a Methodist by faith. She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post #8178 of Littleton and Post #437 of Cameron. She was a social member of Cameron American Legion Post #18.
Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren’s activities at school and traveling with her family.
Surviving is her husband, Edwin Leo “Red Buck” Mackey; three daughters and their husbands, Theresa Parsons and her husband Greig of Wheeling, Becky Winters and her husband Rob of Cameron, and Norma Whipkey and her husband Brandon of Cameron; one brother, Richard Wise of Burton; one sister and her husband, Pam Burley and her husband Joe of Cameron; six grandchildren, Erika Whipkey, Emma Whipkey, Zach Parsons, Colton Winters, Mason Parsons, and Cale Winters; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Dishman and Patricia Cain.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM service hour on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Danny O’Neil officiating. Interment will follow in the Rice Ridge Cemetery.

My condolences to all of you. I spent alot of my childhood at the Mackey's. Karen was a wonderful lady, like a second mom to me growing up. Lots of cherished memories made there with my childhood best friend Norma. All my love to you all.

Becky and family. I am so sorry to hear about your loss, and understand that this is a difficult time of year to lose a family member. From hearing your stories, Becky, I know that your mother loved greatly, and was deeply loved by you and your family. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope your faith and family bonds help everyone deal with grief and enable a move toward having many more wonderful memories of Mrs. Mackey and the difference she has obviously made in your lives and in the community.
