Marshall Knotts, 69, of Fairview, WV died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a short illness.
He was born October 20, 1937 at Rowlesburg, WV, a son of the late Clarence W. Knotts and Mamie Velmor Winters Knotts.
Mr. Knotts was retired from the National Fence Manufacturing Company in Maryland. He was a protestant by faith and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of Fairview High School.
Surviving are one son, James Knotts of Stafford, Virginia; one daughter, Marsha Wightman of Ashburn, VA; his wife, Barbara Knotts of Fairview, one brother, Emory Knotts of Fairview; three sisters, Claudia Bragg of Maryland, Reva Hunter of California, and Barbara Dublen, of Maryland; grandchildren, Melinna Wightman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Warren Knotts, Willard Knotts, Delmar Knotts, and Clyde Knotts; and one sister, Fonda Elder.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Rev. David Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Grafton where full military honors will be accorded.
