ROBERT E. “BUD” DORSEY, SR.

          On Wednesday, December 28, 2022 Robert “Bud” Dorsey, Sr. , 78, of Endicott, Wetzel County, WV was called to his maker.  Bud was born May 30, 1944 in Alliance, Ohio, to the late Sherman Sherwood Dorsey and Inez Evelyn (Loy) Dorsey.

          Bud had worked all his life as a mechanic, and he was a Master Certified Heavy Equipment Mechanic.  He could fix race cars, rebuild engines, repair heavy equipment, and do anything mechanical.  It was his joy.

          Some of his mechanic jobs included working for Marta and Atlas Railworks, the WV Department of Highways, and Wetzel County Board of Education.  He also repaired small engines, did welding, plumbing, heating, carpentry, and any task involving his hands and brain.  He loved muscle cars.

          Bud was a patriot and enjoyed a good political discussion.  He was a loyal member of the NRA, and contributed to charities for veterans, such as Wounded Warriors, and Disabled American Vets. 

          He loved his dogs, and he enjoyed the freedom and solitude of country life.

          Surviving is his wife, Brenda Sue (Cottrell) Dorsey of Endicott; two daughters, Betty Cue (Chuck) of Burton, WV, and Gail “Sissy” Spencer (Dave) of Garrettsville, Ohio; one son, Robert E. “Buddy” Dorsey, Jr, of Littleton, WV; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Sisters, Juanita Barker and Elizabeth Crisp of Dover, Ohio, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.

          In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Sherman Dorsey.

          Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2022.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM.  Interment to follow at Dorsey Cemetery, Low Gap Rocky Run Road, near Littleton, WV.
