RUBY ELLEN HEMMER

          Ruby Ellen Hemmer, 83, of Jakes Run Community, Fairview, WV died Monday, June 19, 2023 in the Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown.

          She was born October 30, 1939 at Core, a daughter of the late Charles Varner and Goldie Brewer Varner.

          Mrs. Hemmer had worked as a quality control supervisor at factories in both Ohio and Florida.  She was a catholic by faith.

          Surviving is her husband, William Edward Hemmer; one son, Brett Stefan of Medina, Ohio; one daughter, Carlene Bitting, of Ohio; three brothers, Raymond Varner of Mt. Morris PA, Ralph Varner of Jakes Run, and Everett Varner of Waynesburg, PA; one sister, Ethel Varner of Rivesville; and one grandson, Casey Bitting.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles J. Varner, Richard Varner, and Ira “Buck” Varner; and a half-sister, Betty Skadel.

          At the request of the deceased her body will be cremated.

The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
