Sandy Tuttle, 75, peacefully left this world for her heavenly home on August 23, 2017. Sandy was born February 17, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Henry E. Shriver and Addie Juanita (Straight) Shriver. She was a life-long resident of the Miracle Run & Blacksville communities and a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Missy) & Junior Hunt; her daughter-in-law and companion, Amy Tuttle and Brendan Hunt; her granddaughters, Brianna Eve Henard, Addie Rose Tuttle, Sydney Hoyle & Ava Tuttle; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Rhonda Shriver; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard & Jean Tuttle; and two close friends who were like her children, Timothy & Shelia Simpson. She is also remembered and survived by other family members including several nieces and nephews and countless friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, R. Joe Tuttle and their son, Dwight David Tuttle. They are together now in heaven, along with their other family and friends rejoicing with the Lord and rejoicing with being reunited.

She was a member of the Miracle Run United Methodist Church where she served the Lord as an active member,Sunday school teacher and leader, Church Treasurer, choir member, and member and officer of the United Methodist Women for many years. She currently attended the Jakes Run Assembly of God.

In 1972, together with her husband and a group of concerned citizens in the western end of Monongalia County, they formed a group to address the lack of health care services in the area. From their efforts, the Clay-Battelle Health Services Association was created: a private non-profit corporation which provides quality, comprehensive family medical and dental care in the Blacksville and Burton areas without regard to the individual’s ability to pay. Although her husband held the position of its first Executive Director, she was his silent and strong partner through it all and became the CFO for the corporation, a position she held for more than 40 years through her retirement in 2012. In everything they did, they did it together as a team.

She was a patient soul who loved her family and to whom she was devoted. She spent her life raising her family and creating a family home where love, hugs and support were always offered along with a gentle word of wisdom. She was deeply loved, and will be missed beyond words but will be forever in our hearts.
