VIRGINIA L. TENNANT

          Virginia L. Tennant, 99, formerly of the Jakes Run area, died Monday, February 27, 2023 in the Sundale Nursing Home where she had been a resident for a long time.

          She was born December 15, 1923 at Jakes Run, a daughter of the late Russell Fletcher and Inez McCord Fletcher.

          Mrs. Tennant was a homemaker and a member of the Jakes Run Assembly of God.

          Surviving are two sisters, Rose Fletcher of Morgantown and Mary Miller of Brave, PA; three grandchildren, Travis Myers, Terry Tennant, and John Tennant; and one great-grandchild.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. “Nick” Tennant who died June 2, 1982; one daughter, Karen Sue Myers; one son, Wilbert E. Tennant; two brothers, James Fletcher and Junior Fletcher; and one sister, Alberta Fratto.

          A graveside service will be held at the Olive Cemetery at Pentress at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2023 with Minister Monique Francis officiating.  Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery.

          The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
